About Lauren Ball - Trauma, Addiction and Eating Disorder Therapist
I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from Arizona State University and my Master's in Social Work from University of Nevada Las Vegas.
My clinical career began at an eating disorder treatment facility near the shores of Santa Cruz, CA. Most recently, I was Clinical Manager of a 56 bed residential substance abuse treatment facility in Las Vegas, NV. Over the course of my education and experience, at these facilities, I have learned a tremendous amount about the complexities and subtle nuances of addiction, disordered eating, and trauma.
Along my journey, I have fallen in love with somatic treatment modalities, specifically trauma informed interventions that work quickly and produce lasting results.
I truly believe my job as a therapist, is to work myself out of a job. I personally value effective therapy interventions that work rapidly. I value clear end goals and measurable results. I believe, if a client is still talking to me about the same problem a few months later, I'm missing the mark.
I have made a commitment to myself, and my clients, that I will not let my purpose and passion be drowned out by documentation, billing and a caseload larger than I can handle. I believe in quality care. I believe everyone in recovery deserves a solid connection with a therapist who doesn't have to look up their name before the next session.
Last, but certainly not least, I value humor and a raw straight forward approach to healing.
A little bit about me.
In addition to my clinical background I am also a collector of knowledge, specifically knowledge related to all things wellness. I am a 500hr Yoga Instructor, Yoga Nidra Facilitator, Certified Full Circle Facilitator, Health and Wellness Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, Natural Lifemanship trained Equine Psychotherapist and a Freedom From Smoking Facilitator with the American Lung Association. I'm always on the lookout for continuing education. If you hear of anything good, let me know, I'm probably interested.
I know, finding a therapist can be daunting and that first meeting can be a little awkward. If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to call. I have the time and energy for you.
